Very deep red violet colour with purple edges. The nose is elegant and savoury Nero d’Avola with richness and sweetness from fermentation in new barriques. The palate is intense and concentrated with pungent fruit with palate length gained from oak sweetness and depth from high quality Nero d’Avola. The palate persists with richness and sweetness with dark cherry and assertive tannins at the end.
The Campofiorito estate is in the Corleone district and is the family’s pride and joy. It lies at altitudes ranging between 600 m and 1200 m above sea level. The red varieties grown there are Nero d'Avola and Syrah.
The grapes are gathered in trays when they are fully ripe. They are destemmed and chilled, then they are transferred to fermentation vessels and selected yeasts are added.
Here primary fermentation takes place for 10 - 15 days at a temperature of 22°C - 24°C. The wine is then racked to French barriques and tonneaux, where the malolactic fermentation process is completed. At the end of the barrel ageing process of around eighteen months, the wine is bottled and left to rest for at least six months.
Characteristics of the wine:
This wine comes from sun-kissed Sicilian vineyards lying 651 m above sea level. A deep red-purple colour, it offers cherry aromas and lingering vanilla notes bestowed upon it by ageing in barriques. It is a good wine to lay down.
Excellent with mature cheeses and game. It perfectly complements wild boar.

The wine D'Istinto Syrah Caltrasi shows a brilliant ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, moderate transparency. A soft green gold colour. The nose is elegant and with subtle oak and aromas of peach and nectarine. The palate is very characteristic of Cattarato with strong nectarine flesh with an elegant but assertive fruit character. The finish is long and balanced with soft drying oak. A real Sicilian variety crafted through oak to give a premium wine style.
This wine has full green gold in colour; the nose has some lifted citrus and apricot. The palate leads with some complex toasty oak, then full and rich nutty chardonnay. The acidity is sufficient to carry the wine with a long persistent finish.
“Magnifico” is an apt word to describe the place where the grapes in this great wine grow: Sicilian hills with thousands of years of history. The best fruits in the harvest make this nectar with an intense aroma of peaches, flowers and citrus fruit typical of Viognier.
