The Morgante Winery is located in the pristine countryside of southern Sicily. Grotte is a town in the province of Agrigento that was at one time famous for an abundance of sulphur mines. The Winery represents one family's initiative to employ five generations of viticultural experience and for the first time, make their own wine from the fruit of their vineyards. In 1994, Antonio Morgante, with the enthusiasm of his sons, Carmelo and Giovanni, decided to vinify his own grapes. This decision represents the beginning of a strong commitment to achieve the best results with indigenous grapes like Nero D'Avola whilst keeping an eye towards innovation and international grape varieties at the same time.

A red wine with velvety tannins, pleasantly persistent, Morgante's Nero d'Avola is an elegant and fascinating table wine, perfect with Sicilian dishes such as eggplant parmigiana or with roast meat and pork ribs. On the nose it offers fruity tones, of Mediterranean scrub and on the palate it is full-bodied with a fresh and correct finish.
