The Azienda Agricola Spadafora is situated in the hilly area of contrada Virzì, within the Monreale district, between Palermo and Alcamo. The estate extends over 180 hectares, 100 of which are vineyards. Great attention is also placed on olive-tree and prickly pear growing, the latter covering about 3 hectares. The Spadafora family boasts a secular tradition in the sector, four are in fact the generations linking the name to the wine industry.

The activity started in 1915, when Ippolito Spadafora started selling typical wine of the area in bulk.
In 1968 a radical shift in business took place which proved to be a turning point for the future development of the business.
Given the evolution of the market, young Domenico Spadafora, ignoring the traditional sale of bulk wine, began with the bottling of wines and distribution throughout the region.
Today, the continuity and evolution of the family history is carried on by Ippolito, Domenico's son following the teachings and passion of his father and grandfather.
By reassessing the native wines with the help of wine experts, the Spadafora winery is now able to produce wines of high quality, continuing the tradition for which Calabria was known in ancient times.

Alhambra Sicilian White Wine Spadafora

Syrah Spadafora Organic Red Wine

Syrah is grown in different ways in the winery, depending on the intended use for the grapes, so these grapes come from a sunnier area than the first but have quite a different plant yield, in order to ensure a concentration that will make this wine ready to rest a year in small oak barrels, which have been previously used for our third Syrah.

Don Pietro Red Wine Spadafora

This is the second red wine of the range and, unlike the red label Syrah, it is a structured wine with the typical elegance of a Sicilian Bordeaux blend, therefore Nero d'Avola, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
