The Firriato Winery was founded in the mid-1980s in the heart of the province with the most vineyards in Italy. The oldest tradition of this company is its youth and the producers, Salvatore and Vinzia Di Gaetano, summarize the ability to do business in tenacity and stubbornness. They are convinced, in fact, that being able to use the resources of a territory that naturally turns out to be one of the most suitable in the world for the cultivation of vines, can lead to the production not only of high quality grapes, but also to the production of great wines. They define the company philosophy as follows: • enhancement of native vines; • use of international grape varieties enhanced by the land of Sicily; • a targeted marketing strategy, and a very correct pricing policy. This is how the decisive turning point took place in 1994. The company entrusts the technical department to a staff of international oenologists (Australian School).
We dare to say that there was, in Sicily, an almost anthropological discovery of the territory, of which the wines are also an expression. The wind and the sun are the natural elements on which the winegrower relies for a good production of quality grapes.
