Masseria Biologica extra virgin olive oil is an organic oil obtained from centuries-old olive groves located at the foot of the Nebrodi Mountains, in the Capo d'Orlando area, a town on the north-eastern coast of Sicily.
The cultivar from which this oil is obtained is Verdello, a minor variety of very rare native Sicilian olive with a low yield that guarantees an appreciated and excellent quality oil.
Harvesting takes place in October, as soon as the veraison of the olives begins, and is carried out manually with the aid of electric harvesters.
Within a few hours of collection, the milling takes place in a continuous cycle cold extraction plant.
Green in color, it has a scent with hints of citrus and grass cut.
It has a pleasant taste given a light bitterness and a balanced spicy.
It is characterized by low acidity, good content of oleic acid and is rich in antioxidants and polyphenols.
It cannot be missing from the Mediterranean diet and is excellent both as a condiment for salads, vegetables, legumes, fish dishes and for use in fries and desserts.
