The origins of the project
The idea of creating a gin infused with sea salt comes from a deep knowledge of the territory and the desire to enhance its typical products. The Bianchi company, always linked to the production of high-quality wines and spirits, decided to experiment with a new recipe, combining the aromatic notes of juniper with the flavor of sea salt.
The bond with the territory
The choice of sea salt is not accidental. In Sicily, salt production is an ancient activity and deeply rooted in the local culture. The salt pans, with their crystalline basins and windmills, are an iconic landscape of the island. By using the salt produced in the Sicilian salt pans, the Bianchi company wanted to create a product closely linked to the territory, a true tribute to the history and traditions of Sicily.
Collaboration with science
To develop the recipe for Gin al Sale, the Bianchi company collaborated with Scienze4Life, a spin-off of the University of Messina. Thanks to this partnership, it was possible to study in depth the characteristics of sea salt and identify the ideal quantity to add to the distillate. The result is a gin with a balanced and harmonious taste, where the salty flavor marries perfectly with the aromatic notes of juniper and other botanicals.
