Grappa Nonino Il Merlot – 100% Artisan distillation
Soft and seductive, Grappa Nonino Il Merlot is a single-varietal distillate obtained from Merlot pomace selected from suitable areas and distilled with the discontinuous artisan distillation in copper steam stills. Drunk at the end of a meal or at any time of the day, Nonino's Grappa Il Merlot is a source of true pleasure.
The Grappa Merlot of the Nonino Distillery originates from the over 100-year-old tradition of the Nonino family which in Percoto since 1973 has been producing fine distillates from the pomace of single-variety grapes with an artisanal method.
Raw material: Selected and de-stemmed pomace, harvested fresh and soft from Merlot grapes.
Fermentation: pure in an anaerobic environment in stainless steel vats, immediately followed by distillation to avoid harmful secondary fermentations.
Distillation: 100% artisan discontinuous distillation with the cutting of the heads and tails, in particular exclusive copper steam stills. The distillation takes place very slowly to allow the volatile components, responsible for the perfumes, a correct evaporation and consequent condensation while keeping the precious organoleptic characteristics of the chosen vine intact.
Resting: from 6 months to a year in stainless steel containers.
Bottle: transparent in blown glass, with color and glitter screen printing, glass cap passed with diamond grinding wheel and hand colored bottom.
Alcohol content: 41% vol.
Color: transparent, clear and crystalline.
Nose: the freshness of the bouquet, reminiscent of the moment of pressing of the must.
Palate: in the mouth it is soft and round with hints of rose petals and cherry stones.
Serving temperature: around 12°C or in a chilled glass.
How to serve: in an open tulip-shaped glass. Before tasting, it must rest for a few minutes in the glass: by oxygenating itself, the aromas are enhanced, the nose-palate harmony is completed.
Pairings: Grappa Nonino Il Merlot is ideal for enhancing the aroma of risottos by blending already toasted rice or for flavoring rather fatty meats halfway through cooking. Try it in aperitifs and cocktails, such as the Merlot Mojito, the Italian-flavored Mojito created by Joerg Meyer (Le Lion Bar de Paris). The result is surprising: a mojito that seduces, conquers and immediately invites you to take a second sip.
