Grapes: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc
Classification: Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Production area: the vineyards are located in the south-western plain of the Saint-Emilion denomination. The terroir is mainly sandy with the presence of ferrous residues in the form of iron oxide which give the wines special qualities.
Vinification: the pruning system used is that of the double guyot. The secondary shoots are removed and the green harvest completed to achieve a low harvest. The grapes are harvested by hand in small trays before being transferred to the cellar. The grapes are classified first by bunch and then, after destemming, grapes for grapes. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks after cold maceration. Maturation takes place in French oak, one third of which is new.
Tasting: it is a delicious wine with ripe fruit and soft tannins. It is spicy and has a brilliant acidity together with a touch of smoking given by the aging of the wood. Rich and generous, it will mature quickly.
