From the clonal selection studies of the best Sangiovese grapes comes Brunello di Montalcino Castello Banfi, a Tuscan red wine with excellent persistence and great aging potential.

Soil: hilly area characterized by clayey sands of the marine Pliocene and blue-gray clays. The former have deep soils with abundant and calcareous stones, the latter instead moderately deep, mineral soils with a tendency to retain moisture
Training system: spurred cordon - Banfi sapling
Plant density: 2400 - 5500 cp / ha.
Yield per hectare: 65 q / ha.
Fermentation: at a controlled temperature (25-30°) in combined steel vats and Horizon French oak
Aging: 80% in 60 and 90 hl French oak barrels. and 20% in 350 l French oak barrels. for at least 2 years
Alcohol: 15% vol
Color: Ruby red with light garnet reflections.
Nose: sweet and fruity aroma with strong hints of red fruit in jam, perfectly balanced with notes of licorice and pipe tobacco
Palate: Soft and smooth tannins well integrated with a marked acidity that gives this Brunello a lively and powerful structure.
Pairings: excellent with rich and tasty meat dishes and aged cheeses. Perfect as a meditation wine.
