For this wine, we rely on the oldest vines in the Podere Massoni vineyard, planted on shaley-clay soils, on a low yield of 70 quintals per hectare, and a fairly late harvest date (mid October).

That gives us a wine ideally suited for a three-week barrel fermentation plus maturation in new barriques of about four months. It then receives six months’ further ageing in steel and six in bottle before release. It is a lustrous light gold, with rich, luscious scents of blossoms, citron, and tropical fruit; it boasts a full, well-balanced body, and a sustained, aromatic finish. Lugana Riserva will pair well with a wide range of dishes, especially fish, but you will find it beautiful all by itself.
