From many generations the Planeta family has been dedicated to farming in the area of Sambuca di Siclia and Menfi, in the province of Agrigento, and it as always been in the forefront of developments in Sicilian agriculture. The future production of wine began in 1985 on the shore of the Lake Arancio, near Sambuca di Sicilia, with the main aim being to demonstrate the value of Sicilian wines. Since the first vineyards was planted the Planeta family has concentrated on three important goals: - to gain recognition to the indigenous grape varieties; - to adapt the best international vines to the particular conditions of Sicily; - o restore the fascinating and historic Sicilian D.O.C.;
The oil has a wonderful green colour and a fresh bouquet of herbs, citrus fruit, artichokes and tomatoes. It has a delicate and full flavour and its characteristics, already displayed during the pressing, are preserved throughout thanks to careful attention at every stages of the production.
