White Wines

It takes its name from the woods of the town of Salemi. Angimbé, a wine marked by its scent ranging from the perfume of fresh flowers to that of ripe fruit, is born from the union of the Sicilian personality of Insolia grapes and the elegance of Chardonnay grapes.

Chiaramonte Ansonica was created as an act of reverent homage towards this important and widely-planted Sicilian variety. Freshness and minerality for one of the best interpretations of pure Inzolia wine.

Containers called Pithoi were used for fermentation, which gave the wines their particular smell and taste of quality which still endures today.

Feudo dei Fiori di Mandrarossa is a Sicilian white wine, made from Vermentino, Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes. The white wine Feudo Dei Fiori has a very intense full-bodied fruit and brings as everywhere in Italy very fruity, sometimes bold white wines.

Fiano by Mandrarossa - Organic wineMandrarossa Fiano is a Sicilian white wine, made from 100% Fiano grapes from the vineyards located in Menfi. Calcareous soils with the typical white stones, locally called “ciaca bianca”, afford the ideal conditions for fiano. Bianco di Nera Più of Milazzo is a sparkling Sicilian white wine. A particular winemaking process characterizes this "white" wine: the bunches of Inzolia are subjected to destemming and those of Nero Cappuccio are sent for gentle pressing. It is, therefore, a black grape vinified in white.

With good fresh flavour, delicate citrus fruit bouquet and clean aftertaste, this makes an attractive inexpensive white. Grecanico, related to the garganega of Soave and greco di tufo, has adapted well to the Sicilian climate.

Bianco di Nera by Milazzo is a sparkling Sicilian white wine. A particular winemaking process characterizes this "white" wine: the bunches of Inzolia are subjected to destemming and those of Nero Cappuccio are sent for gentle pressing. It is, therefore, a black grape vinified in white.

The Colomba Platino has a beautiful straw yellow color. It presents itself with a delicate fruity bouquet, is lively, rich and sustainable.

La Segreta takes its name from the wood that surrounds our vineyard at Ulmo. This young fresh wine produced mainly from Grecanico grapes, introduced into Sicily more than 2,000 years ago, gains personality and style with the addition of international variety grapes.All the grapes are carefully cultivated in Planeta owned vineyards.

Zibibbo Lighea by Donnafugata - Pantelleria Estate
Lighea by Donnafugata is a Sicilian white wine, a dry version of Zibibbo. It has a rich aromatic bouquet in which floral notes of orange blossom, hints of citrus fruits such as cedar and bergamot, and of exotic fruits, the lychee, stand out. Versatile and with Mediterranean aromas, it is a complex and innovative wine with an original label that portrays Lighea, the bewitching siren of a tale by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.

This is a fresh wine, which should be consumed within two years. The name refers to my family's Spanish origins and we produce 75,000 bottles of it.
The grapes are equal quantities of Catarratto and Inzolia, fermented separately. The wines are blended in November.

Our Grillo wine is grown on the slopes of Mount Erice, a provenance of the happiest union between cultivation and land. This is a sunny wine with unique characteristics. 

Straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. Elegant, subtle bouquet, with the aroma of spring flowers to the fore. Fresh palate with an inviting acidity.

Inzolia by Principe di Corleone is a Sicilian white wine with a deep straw yellow color. Intense and harmonious bouquet with hints of fruit and white flowers. Fresh, lively, harmonious and persistent flavour.

The Pinot Bianco of Principe di Corleone is a Sicilian white wine obtained from the homonymous vine. It is a wine for the whole meal, it goes pleasantly with appetizers, aperitifs, dishes based on fish and shellfish, soups and soft cheeses. Drunk chilled, it is an excellent aperitif.

Catarratto Chardonnay by Principe di Corleone is a Sicilian white wine, with a straw yellow color with greenish reflections and hints of Sicilian white flowers. Intense, fruity with remarkable character. Fresh and persistent on the palate.

A real jewel, yellow in colour, pale yellow with green overtones. Dry, fragrant with hints of fruit. Grape varieties: Cataratto, Inzolia and Grillo 

Fresh and elegant, Calanìca Chardonnay by Duca di Salaparuta is a captivating and balanced Sicilian white wine. Excellent for an aperitif to be enjoyed with friends.

The sun and the favourable climate means these grapes produce extraordinary wines with extraordinary flavours and colours, ensuring they bear DOC status. 

Catarratto and chardonnay grapes give this wine fresh Mediterranean scents and a savoury, elegant flavour with a typical hint of bitter almonds. Piano Maltese is the heart of the Tenuta Rapitalà, gentle hills at between 300 and 600 metres altitude, which, because of their history, terrain and climate endow wines with a special character. 

Cold pressing with skins and first fermentation at a temperature of 8°C for around 12 hours, soft second pressing. Cold decanting and fermentation at a temperature of 18-20°C, period on the lees in stainless steel containers at least 4 months, and successive fining in the bottle.

Corvo Bianco, a classic Sicilian wine, is produced from Sicilian vines cultivated on warm, sunny hills. Mediterranean and rich in the island’s scents it is a harmonious, versatile white wine with lots of character. 

Grillo von Principe di Corleone is a Sicilian white wine with a golden yellow color from the Grillo grape variety. The taste is full and complex. The scent highlights notes of almond and floral scents.

COLOUR: Light straw yellow with shades of green. 
BOUQUET: Pleasing, diverse and fresh; heavy scent of white flowers. TASTE: Clean, delicate, characteristic. A touch of fragrant acidity gives it a fresh and keen taste. 

Etna Bianco by Tenuta delle Terre Nere is a Sicilian white wine born from the assembly of 5 Sicilian native vines: Carricante in prevalence, Catarratto, Inzolia, Grecanico and Minnella. All from old vines. A perfect, delicious and versatile wine.

Charme Bianco Firriato - Sparkling wine
Fresh, mineral and seductive, Charme Bianco by Firriato is a dynamic Sicilian white wine for the most cheerful and carefree moments. With the exuberance and vitality of talented young people, he is able to create unexpected, persuasive atmospheres of unusual elegance and beauty, distinguishing himself in the style and innate grace that is his.

Its name seems to attributed by the vine-grovers of Viagrande because of its characteristics of allowing a good, constant production over the years. The bunches, at ripeness, are of average length usually, and scattered; the grape is of medium-sized with very pruinose skin and a greenyellowish color. The pulp is juicy and the taste is simple and sweet. 

Organoleptic characteristics: - Color: pale yellowish with greenish tints. - Scent: intense, rich and fruity, of orange and lemon flower, and ripe apple. - Taste: dry, with pleasant acidity, nice aromatic persistence and after taste of anise and almond. 

Etna Bianco di Murgo is a Sicilian white wine made from Carricante and Catarratto grapes. Fruity and floral with notes of broom and yellow apple.
Elegant wine with an aromatic complexity, a balance and a mineral sensation that comes from the volcanic soil.

Bunches of the excellent Grillo, one of several white wines that respects the traditions of Sicilian wine. Vinification: in barriques and oak tonneaux French Evolution: 8 months on the lees in barrels and 2 months in bottle

Eruzione 1614 Carricante by Planeta is a Sicilian white wine from Carricante grapes, with a small addition of Riesling. The cultivation on black soils rich in minerals of the Sciaranuova vineyard, at an altitude of 890 m on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, give this wine minerality, freshness and flavor.

Aromas suggest citrus and stone fruit. The juicy palate delivers white peach, green apple and a hint of lemon zest alongside soft but refreshing acidity. It's simple but well-made with a clean finish

“Catarratto” is one of the oldest native grape variety in Sicily. Widely cultivated in the western region of the island, it is one of the leading Sicilian white grape varieties today. A very drinkable wine with persuasive and enjoyable flavors and a crunchy fruit taste. Benedè is a traditional wine, invaluable proof of Catarratto grapes, that have been cultivated in Sicily for a long time.

In the most ancient vineyards of the estate, on the hill overlooking Mandranova plain, Catarratto reveals its full potential in one of its highest expressions. Catarratto Vigna di Mandranova is an elegant wine, to be uncorked in special moments. Seductive and harmonious in its fruity and floral bouquet, it will pleasantly surprise you with its spicy and mineral ending.

Cantine Fina's Mamarì is not the classic Sauvignon Blanc but it is a Sicilian Sauvignon Blanc. Widespread in Sicily since the mid-nineties, the vine has found an ideal habitat that has allowed it to develop unique and unmistakable typical Sicilian olfactory and gustatory characteristics. It is a fresh wine vinified in steel with fruity and floral notes. Great to accompany sushi and sashimi!

Calamossa Mandrarossa comes from the selection of the best autochthonous white berried grapes from the Menfi area and the surrounding areas. Its name is a tribute to the splendid inlet set between vineyards and sea, located in an uncontaminated strip of land, dotted with Mediterranean scrub and marsh flora.

Carricante grapes This wine is produced in our Feudo di Mezzo winery, lying in the centre of Etna’s wine growing area, from Carricante grapes partially fermented in barriques. This is the result of searching for an expression of this noble grape cultivated in the unique and splendid terroir of Etna.

Prio Catarratto Lucido - Donnafugata Cellars
Sensual and fragrant white wine, Prio by Donnafugata is a Catarratto, or Lucido, an indigenous Sicilian mono-varietal that gives joy at the first sip. Fresh and pleasant on the palate, it offers marked citrus scents of cedar and grapefruit and delicate floral notes of elderberry. Perfect to sip and share with friends.

Cavanera Ripa di Scorciavacca is a Bianco Etna DOC cru that encapsulates in its intense and refined bouquet the aromas and complexity of a unique terroir in the field of Sicilian viticulture—the Etna Volcano. Firriato white, a union of Carricante and Catarratto. The vines’ strength give the wine a decisive character, with a balanced acidity and softness and an extraordinary potential longevity.

Zibibbo by Abbazia Santa Anastasia belongs to the I Sensi line. Among the five senses, the one paired with Zibibbo is Smell. Straw yellow in color with light greenish hues, Zibibbo L'Olfatto is inebriating on the nose with fresh aromas of fruit and floral notes. On the palate it is pleasantly fresh, sapid and persistent.

The Petralava Bianco is an Etna DOC that comes from the Carricante and Catarratto vines, on the slopes of Etna.

Greenish, very appealing color. Fresh and floral smell with clear hints of rennet apples and pineapple, delicate citrus note. Fruity, mineral flavor, slightly soft with a slight liveliness on the palate due to the delicate presence of natural carbon dioxide, originating from alcoholic fermentation.

Zibibbo Bahar is one of the six autochthonous mono-varietals that best represent the peculiarities and nuances of the Valle del Belìce area.
It is a wine with an intense yellow color, with fruity and floral aromas reminiscent of citrus fruits, peaches and yellow melons, the result is a great taste-olfactory balance.
It belongs to the medium-compact ''Terra Bianca'' category. The dry microclimate with good water retention makes this land the ideal habitat for the cultivation of native white varietals.

From the synthesis between tradition and innovation, Bertolino Soprano is born, a fragrant and seductive Grillo grown on limestone soils.

Obtained from the native Sicilian grape, Calanìca Grillo Duca di Salaparuta is a contemporary and lively Sicilian white wine that allows you to taste the intense and fruity aromas of the Mediterranean scrub.

Produced from a grape that loves altitude and lava lands, Riesling Eruzione 1614 is a cru of Etna grown in the Sciaranuova vineyards, at whose border the legendary eruption of 1614, which lasted 10 years, stopped.

Dry Zibibbo Jasmin - Firriato
Obtained from Zibibbo grapes, Jasmin by Firriato is an elegant white wine rich in taste thanks to the aromatic characteristic of this native vine, vinified dry. Well represents the sunshine, the conviviality of Sicily and the Mediterranean charm. Great to drink in the company of friends.

Blend of Carricante and Catarratto grapes, Trainara by Alessandro Di Camporeale is a fragrant, fresh and mineral Etna wine that reveals citrus notes of pink grapefruit in the finish.

Made from autochthonous Catarratto Extra-Lucido grapes, Lucido di Cusumano is a Sicilian white wine that takes its name from the brightness of the grapes of the vine. It is characterized by a marked acidity compared to the common Catarratto.

The Shamaris of Cusumano is a Sicilian wine produced from native Grillo grapes. The name recalls the nearby sea and its air carried by the north winds. The hilly altitude of the vineyards favors the development of aromas and freshness.
