Miano Catarratto 2024 DOC Valledolmo County of Sclafani by Castellucci Miano Winery

From the ancient and unique Sicilian native Catarratto vine comes the white wine Miano of the Castellucci Miano winery. In the Valledolmo countryside, on the slopes of the Madonie, the Catarratto grapes, grown mainly as saplings, give this monovarietal wine of high altitude of great aromatic richness accompanied by refined freshness and pleasant flavor.

Altitude: between 700 and 900 m above sea level

Soil: sandy, clayey, medium texture, with alkaline reaction due to the presence of active limestone

Climate: cool, with strong temperature variations between day and night

Vineyard area: 75 hectares

Average age of the vineyard: 20 years

Training system: sapling/espalier

Type of pruning: guyot and spur

Grape yield per ha: 80/100 quintals

Harvest: manual, in October

Vinification: in white

Fermentation: in steel at a controlled temperature of 16°C

Aging: in steel tanks for approximately 3 months
