Colomba Platino Duca di Salaparuta
The Colomba Platino has a beautiful straw yellow color. It presents itself with a delicate fruity bouquet, is lively, rich and sustainable.






TYPE: White.
CLASSIFICATION: Typical Geographical Indication Sicily (IGT).
GRAPE VARIETY: Insolia.
1ST YEAR OF PRODUCTION: Vintage year 1957.
PRODUCTION AREA: Southwestern Sicily: hinterland of the province of Agrigento around the towns of Ribera and Cattolica.
SOIL: Mixed type, traces of sand.
ALTITUDE: From 250 to 350 meters msl.
VINEYARDS: Upward-trained, high density of plants per hectare (over 4,000) and low yield (50 - 60 hl/ha).
CLIMATE: Mild winters with very dry springs and summers.
VINTAGE: By hand, from the 2nd to 4th week of September.
VINIFICATION: Very soft pressing of the grapes. Only the first pressing must is used. Slow fermentation at 16° - 17° C for about 15 days and then long lees contact.
AGEING: At controlled temperature up to spring to favor the natural clarification.
MATURING: For at least two months in bottle at controlled temperature.
TASTING:
Colour: pale yellow with greenish highlights.
Aroma: intense, delightfully fruity, with character.
Flavour: fresh, balanced and persistent. Same scents perceived by the nose.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12.5 v %.
MEAN ANNUAL PRODUCTION: 600,000 750-ml. bottles.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10° - 12° C.
RECOMMENDED GLASS: Transparent long-stemmed, chimneyshaped glass.
RECOMMENDED WITH: Excellent with shellfish, seafood and fish.
Storing
VERY COOL: (13° - 15° C.) room, not too moist, away from direct light.
