Grillo Molino a Vento – Contemporary Line

From the native Sicilian white grape variety par excellence, Tenute Orestiadi offers Grillo Molino a Vento, an elegant wine with Mediterranean aromas and tropical hints. Grillo Molino a Vento is part of the Contemporanei line because it expresses contemporaneity, the result of the union between Agriculture and Art. Savory and with excellent structure, it is a versatile white wine, excellent both as an aperitif and throughout the meal.

Grape Variety: 100% Grillo

Production Area: Valle del Belìce, in the Trapani hinterland

Altitude: 350-500 m above sea level.

Soil: white earth, medium compactness with a very high component of limestone and chalk which originates from the numerous chalky-sulphurous formations present in the area

Climate: dry microclimate with good water retention which enhances the typical minerality of the soil

Harvest: manual, at the end of August

Vinification: destemming and soft pressing of the grapes

Fermentation: at a controlled temperature with the addition of selected yeasts

Aging: 3 months in steel

Bottle refinement: 2 months in bottle before sale

Alcohol content: 12.5% vol

Color: bright and brilliant straw yellow

Nose: complex bouquet of tropical fruits and Mediterranean citrus fruits

Palate: fresh and good acidity, with hints of yellow melon and tropical fruits

Pairings: excellent wine as an aperitif or throughout the meal. It pairs well with fish-based first courses such as spaghetti with seafood, fettuccine with sea urchins, but also with grilled red tuna and mussel soutè. Try it with mature cheeses including primo sale and pecorino
