Sicily magical place, where the scents, the colors, the flavors of a unique land dance with life, envelop you in an irresistible and inebriating atmosphere. Centuries of delicacies to be tasted slowly.

Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s oldest native grape and rightly deserving of the high acclaim which it now receives.
Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio are smaller players amongst Sicily’s leading red grapes but are key natives around Mount Etna. The two are blended to create Etna Rosso.
Cerasuolo di Vittoria, which blends Frappato and Nero d’Avola, is more famous in the south east around Ragusa.
Other red grapes include Calabrese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah (originally from southern France).

Our Cerasuolo di Vittoria is born in the beautiful countryside of Dorilli, between the sea and the Iblei mountains, well known as a place of excellence of Sicilian food. The name of the only DOCG in Sicily is derived from ‘Cerasa’, cherry in Sicilian dialect. It is produced from the indigenous varieties Nero d’Avola and Frappato.

It offers aromas that evoke aromas of red fruit that are intense, pleasant and fresh anyway. In the mouth it is generous with fruity and spicy veins. However, it has a good body and is very pleasant and excellent to sip.
Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG Avide

An important wine made from grapes called "Frappato" and "Nero D'Avola". It's respectful of Cerasuolo's tradition. Its intens and persistent scent recalls a ripe pomegranate. Its deep colour is like a cherry. It would be better to uncork the bottle one hour before and to serve it at 18°-20° C. about.

Cottanera have created a blend with 15% of international varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot), which definitely adds fruit and richness to this easy-going cuvee. The fruit is leathery, backed up by taut tannins, and there's an enticing spicy, vegetal note to the nose. Barrique aging has been well judged to round out the palate, without dominating it.

It appeared in Italy in 1800, spreading through the entire peninsula, and married extremely well with many native varieties.
