PRODUCTION AREA: Central-south Sicily, town of Butera between Riesi – Gela. Estate of “SuorMarchesa” 
Grape: Nero d’Avola 60% - Merlot 40% 
Type: Red 
Classification: Geographical indication (IGT Sicilia) 
1st year of production: 2007 harvest 
Soil: Calcareous-siliceous mix 
Altimetre: from 290 to 340 metres above sea level 
Vines: Vine grown on spurred cordon with 5.200 units per hectare. 
Climate: Mild, wet winters with cool springs. Summers and autumns are hot and very dry. 
Harvesting: By hand at full ripeness for both grape varieties after mid-September. 
Vinification: Traditional destalking and maceration for 6- 8 days at 28° - 30° C. 
Maturation: Base blending carried out at maturation for at least 12 months in large glazed cement vats in order to infuse the characteristics. 
Affinement: After bottling 2 – 3 months in cellar at controlled temperature (15°-16° C.) to develop the bouquet. 
Color: deep bright roby red 
Bouquet: intense and full with notes of ripe red fruits, elegant hints of spices and tobacco. 
Flavor: warm and velvety with clear sensations of black cherries, elegant tannin touch. Good structure and persistent aroma. 
Alcohol degrees: 13,0 % by vol. 
Serving temp: 16° - 18° C. 
Recommended glass: Wide, transparent with long stem. 
Suggested accompaniments: Ideal wine with all courses, perfect for red meat dishes and with semi-mature cheeses. 
Storage: In very cool places (13°-15°C) with low humidity. 
Age: Over 5 years if stored in appropriate cellars
