Fatagione Cottanera
Cottanera have created a blend with 15% of international varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot), which definitely adds fruit and richness to this easy-going cuvee. The fruit is leathery, backed up by taut tannins, and there's an enticing spicy, vegetal note to the nose. Barrique aging has been well judged to round out the palate, without dominating it.

Two brothers Guglielmo and Enzo Cambria have created the Cottanera farming enterprise obtaining the millenial inheritance and giving life once again to a vine growing and wine producing area which has no equal in the world.
In the South and in particular for Sicily, the Etna area is equipped with unique possibilities to produce wines of great finesse, balance and body with elegant aromas and above all with rather high acidity values that give the wines produced freshness of aromas and flavors and good storage and aging capacity over time especially of red wines which here traditionally are based on Nerello Mascalese, with a small presence of Nero d'Avola, the most widespread and most important grape in the region, in addition to Nerello Cappuccio.
It was a difficult task, on the limits of the impossible, realized thanks to a plan based on quality, that quality which is not only a beautiful word but is made up of intelligence, energy, will, transport, faith and above all passion.
A passion which, like the lava in the bowels of the mountain, runs in the veins of men capable of great enterprises.
