Montenero is the name of a hill that stands at an altitude of 500 meters. Three red grapes are grown here including the excellent Nero d'Avola which, used in a greater proportion, distinguishes this great red wine. Character, personality and elegance are the main features of this wine which can be kept bottled for long periods. It is best accompanied by Mediterranean cuisine.

This wine from Sicily is a blend of 70% Nero d'Avola, 20% Syrah and 10% Merlot. Aromas of vanilla buttercream, cedar, cinnamon and clove make one wonder if the fruit has been oaked into submission, but the bright cherry fruit shines on the palate and lingers through the tart, smooth finish.
