Frappato Mandrarossa - Red Wine for Aperitifs

Sicilian wine ideal for an aperitif, Frappato by Mandrarossa is a young, fresh red with fruity notes of black cherry and pomegranate. In fact, in the Sicilian dialect the term "frappatu" indicates the fruity fragrance of the bouquet of wines obtained from frappato grapes. A red wine that also goes perfectly with fish dishes.

Soils: clay sand soils

Planting density: 4.300 - 5.000 plants/ha

Vineyards: Espalier-grown and guyot-pruned

Harvesting: 1st week of September

Alcoholic content: 13% vol

Vinification: a maceration and a fermentation for 4-6 days at 22-25°C

Aging: in steel vats for 3-4 months

Color: ruby-red with purplish reflections

Nose: notes of sour and black cherry, red fruits and sweet spices

Palate: sapid, with good persistence

Serving temperature: 16-18°C

Pairings: Fish soups, grilled chicken, roasted tuna
