Cuvée Aurora Alta Langa DOCG Riserva 2011 is a pas dosé Classic Method sparkling wine from Banfi Wineries. Produced from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, it is a Classic Method of great elegance and structure, combined with a lively acidity that gives it a rare freshness for a wine with such a long aging.

Cuvée Aurora 100 Mesi Riserva 2011 is a pas dosé Classic Method sparkling wine to be uncorked for important occasions. Available only in the 1.5 L Magnum format, it is packaged in an elegant black cardboard case. A refined gift, for true connoisseurs!

Denomination: Alta Langa DOCG Riserva

Grape varieties: 85% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay

Vintage: 2011. This vintage was characterized by abundant snowfalls during the winter followed by a spring with regular rainfall. The high temperatures recorded in the month of May accelerated the vegetative development, thus anticipating the flowering and fruit setting of the vine. The normal summer temperatures and the rainfall in June allowed for optimal ripening of the grapes, which took place slightly earlier than usual. Overall, the 2011 harvest gave excellent results, with peaks of excellence.

Soil: marly-calcareous soil with a small percentage of clay

Training system: Guyot

Planting density: 4000 cp/ha

Yield per hectare: 110 q/ha

Fermentation: in the bottle according to the Classic Method

Refinement: in the bottle on the lees for at least 100 months

Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.

Residual sugars: 0 g/l – pas dosé

Colour: bright straw yellow with golden reflections

Perlage: very fine

Nose: Intense aroma and initially characterized by hints of candied citrus peel and toasted hazelnuts which evolve into complex and balsamic aromas of star anise

Palate: Austere, elegant wine with great structure. It is characterized by an important acidity which gives it a rare freshness, and by a remarkable sapidity and persistence

Pairings: perfect with fish-based dishes, raw and cooked, with complex preparations and elegant but decisive flavors

Serving temperature: 8-10°C
