How is this sparkling wine made and what are its characteristics?
Murgo Brut is the first Blanc de Noir sparkling wine. Only the best Nerello Mascalese grapes grown on San Michele Estate in a unique sandy terroir of volcanic origin. Obtained according to the Classic Method, Murgo Brut first ages in stainless steel tanks for 7-8 months and then in the bottle on the lees for about 5-6 years.

Aging: in stainless steel tanks for 7-8 months
Aging in the bottle: on the lees for a period varying between 5 and 6 years
Remouage: with pupitres
Disgorgement: freezing of the neck, dégorgement and dosing are carried out with semi-automatic machines
Analytical data of the wine: Acidity 6-7 gr/l, Residual sugars <4 gr/l
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol
Perlage: very fine, continuous and persistent

Nose: floral bouquet with aromas of chamomile and broom combined with delicate sensations of hazelnut and bread crust
Palate: mineral, fine, complex and of good persistence with floral hints of Etna apple and medlar and notes spiced with mint and balsamic herbs
Pairings: ideal sparkling wine with Mediterranean fish sashimi and fresh fish such as oysters
Serving temperature: 8-10°C
Longevity: over 5 years from disgorging
