Spelled is a dark golden colored cereal with elliptical-ovoid grains with a groove in the center.
In nature it is covered by an external film, rich in fibers. After being harvested, it is first shelled and then pearled, that is, it undergoes an abrasion that eliminates the pericarp and makes it lighter in color and faster in cooking, preserving its nutritional principles.
It is ideal for cold salads, soups, soups and for desserts. Excellent to combine with legumes and vegetables.
How to prepare: Wash the spelled thoroughly, put it on the stove in plenty of lightly salted boiling water and cook for about 20 minutes. In a pressure cooker it takes about 7 minutes.
