Passorosso of Passopisciaro is a wine from Etna produced by Franchetti in his own cellar in Castiglione di Sicilia. Andrea Franchetti was among the first producers to believe in the extraordinary lava terroir of Etna, giving new vigor to the old, semi-abandoned vineyards on the northern slope of the volcano. Produced for the first time in 2001, Passorosso is an elegant and soft Nerello Mascalese, aged in oak barrels and unfiltered before bottling.
