Wines Red

Sicily magical place, where the scents, the colors, the flavors of a unique land dance with life, envelop you in an irresistible and inebriating atmosphere. Centuries of delicacies to be tasted slowly.

Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s oldest native grape and rightly deserving of the high acclaim which it now receives.
Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio are smaller players amongst Sicily’s leading red grapes but are key natives around Mount Etna. The two are blended to create Etna Rosso.
Cerasuolo di Vittoria, which blends Frappato and Nero d’Avola, is more famous in the south east around Ragusa.
Other red grapes include Calabrese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah (originally from southern France).

Merlot Cellar Torrepalino
Out-of-Stock
This French vine species is originally from Gironde. It had a leading role to play in creating some of the most celebrated Bordeaux wines. It appeared in Italy in 1800, spreading through the entire peninsula, and married extremely well with many native varieties. Merlot Patria’s properties heighten the senses in the way only a good wine can and make it stand out from other classic red wines.
Syrah Cellar Torrepalino
Out-of-Stock
It is unclear whether the name derives originally from the Persian city of Shyraz or from Siracuse, a town in which it may have been cultivated in the past. Cultivated primarily and with great success in France, in northern Rodan, where it gave life some of the greatest red French wines.

Nero D'Avola Cellar Torrepalino
Out-of-Stock
This is one of Sicily’s best loved vines, the most Sicilian of the Sicilian varieties, and the most ubiquitous of all varieties on the island. It is now well known all over the world, prompting countries with new wine traditions to attempt imitations to no avail.
Cabernet Sauvignon DOC Tasca D'Almerita
San Francesco Vineyard - Regaleali Estate
Cabernet Sauvignon in purity with Mediterranean notes and the typical structure of the high Sicilian hills, the Cabernet Sauvignon of Vigna San Francesco is an expression of the character of the vineyard from which it comes. The experimentation in the Regaleali estate of the most famous international red grapes has led to the creation of an amazing Cabernet Sauvignon. Lamùri of Tasca D'Almerita is a Sicilian Nero d'Avola cultivated on the high hills. It takes its name from the winery's own love (Lamùri) for the production of its wines. Unlike the usual Nero d'Avola grown in the plains, Lamùri is characterized by primary aromas, without excesses of ripening.

International Syrah and DOC Monreale
Fresh wine of excellent drinkability, the Syrah produced by Tasca d'Almerita in the Sallier de la Tour estate represents the most varietal and identity-defining expression of the Monreale DOC territory.
