What are the characteristics of Murgo's Etna Rosso?
Etna Rosso Murgo was bottled for the first time in 1982 and is still the most important wine of the Murgo company. This red wine is produced according to winemaking techniques strictly linked to the tradition and terroir of Etna to enhance the varietal characteristics of the vines used, Nerello mascalese and Nerello cappuccio. Sicilian red wine with great personality, elegance and sensorial complexity. Its very mineral taste recalls lava and volcanic sands.

Vinification: destemming and pressing of the grapes. Maceration at controlled temperature (28-29°C) with selected yeasts in stainless steel vats for 7-8 days
Aging: after racking, the wine is aged for 6-8 months in the typical chestnut barrels of Etna (with a capacity of 30-130 hl) and then assembled and decanted into the underground cellar where it rests in stainless steel vats until bottling, which is carried out several times, at least one year after the harvest
Aging in the bottle: at least 3 months before marketing
