What are the characteristics of Dea Vulcano Etna Rosso Doc Donnafugata?

A surprising, completely Sicilian wine that contains within itself all the quality that the Mediterranean area offers. The vineyards are grown as saplings, located on the northern side of Etna, in eastern Sicily, between Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia. The climate is very cool. the soils of lava origin, deep, sandy and with a very high quantity of minerals.

The harvest takes place in the first half of October, with completely manual harvests. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 25°C, with a short maceration on the skins for 8/10 days. Finally, the wine matures for 14 months in concrete tanks and partly in French oak barriques, completing the 10-month refinement in the bottle.
