Kemar Catarratto DOC – La Selezione Line
The Catarratto Kemar by Tenute Orestiadi is an indigenous mono-varietal with unrepeatable characteristics thanks to the uniqueness of the soil and particularly suitable vineyards surrounding the Belìce Valley. It belongs to The Selezione line, a line of wines with a Mediterranean character that best represent the peculiarities of the Gibellina area, in the Trapani hinterland. Symbol of absolute excellence and great elegance, the Orestiadi Catarratto stands out for its extraordinary olfactory finesse enhanced by the full and complex sip.

Altitude: 350-500 m above sea level.
Soil: white earth, medium compactness with a very high component of limestone and chalk which originates from the numerous chalky-sulphurous formations present in the area
Climate: dry microclimate with good water retention which enhances the typical minerality of the soil
Harvest: manual, between the first and second ten days of September
Vinification: destemming and soft pressing of the grapes
Fermentation: at a controlled temperature with the addition of selected yeasts
Aging: 3 months in steel
Bottle refinement: at least 4 months
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol
Color: bright and intense straw yellow
Nose: bouquet with a typical Mediterranean scrub, fruity with notes of white pulp fruit, green apple, peach and apricot, and floral with hints of almond, orange blossom and broom
Palate: great elegance and excellent balance between freshness and softness
Pairings: perfect with fish-based first courses but also with fried crustaceans, molluscs, sea urchins and grilled prawns
