Among the crus of Tenuta delle Terre Nere, Guardiola is the one with the most powerful and original character. The high altitude of the vineyards, 800-1000 meters, and the consequent aridity of the soils exacerbate the acidity of the wine and accentuate its tannins. Calderara Sottana is a single vineyard wine produced only from vineyards between 50-100 years old. Of all our single vineyard wines it is perhaps the most complete: much like a wide angle lens encompasses the most ample panorama, so Calderara seems to contain and display the widest spectrum of flavors, bouquets, nuances.

From the vinification of two native Etna vines, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, the Etna Rosso DOC of the Tornatore winery is born, a wine with an intense and spicy aroma.

Among the finest crus of the Pietrarizzo district in Castiglione di Sicilia we find Etna Bianco Pietrarizzo di Tornatore, a savory and fresh wine, produced from 100% Carricante grapes.

Its name seems to attributed by the vine-grovers of Viagrande because of its characteristics of allowing a good, constant production over the years. The bunches, at ripeness, are of average length usually, and scattered; the grape is of medium-sized with very pruinose skin and a greenyellowish color. The pulp is juicy and the taste is simple and sweet. 

Organoleptic characteristics: - Color: pale yellowish with greenish tints. - Scent: intense, rich and fruity, of orange and lemon flower, and ripe apple. - Taste: dry, with pleasant acidity, nice aromatic persistence and after taste of anise and almond. 

The slopes of Mount Etna have always been the perfect habitat for Nerello Mascalese, in terms of both maturation and aromatic expression. Làvico, produced here in the enchanting Vajasindi estate, sums up Nerello Mascalese’s decisive and slightly wild character in a refined manner and is a true expression of its territory of origin and the volcano.

On the Etna Volcano White Doc is a refined wine born within the Sicilian Donnafugata cellars.
