The "land among the mountains", as South Tyrol was formerly called, is one of the most colorful landscapes in Europe. The gentle hills surrounding the town of Salorno guarantee lush vineyards thanks to the presence of the Alps, which protect from the cold north winds. The particular vocation of the soil, the dry climate and the abundance of days with mild temperatures ensure perfect ripening of the grapes. The large transit of travelers led to the development of various accommodation activities, including taverns, the scene of meetings and important decisions under the watchful eye of the host. The fine wines of the Tolloy line, such as Pinot Nero and Gewurztraminer, are dedicated to the host of one of Salorno's most renowned inns at the beginning of the eighteenth century.
Gewurztraminer Tolloy is produced from vineyards grown in Alto Adige on the hill of Pochi, a hamlet of Salorno. Excellent with first courses, second courses based on shellfish, asparagus, tasty cooked pasta cheeses.
